NexTier Bank donates $15,000 to Seneca Valley

JACKSON TWP — NexTier Bank last month donated $15,000 to the Seneca Valley School District as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development’s Education Improvement Tax Credit program.

The statewide program enables businesses to make tax-deductible donations to local organizations. In this case, the bank made the donation to the Seneca Valley Foundation.

School officials said Friday the latest donation marks the sixth consecutive year NexTier has participated in the EITC program, and it’s the second year its donated a substantial amount.

To date, the bank has given more than $900,000 to the school.

The donated money will go toward the district’s Women in Engineering program, the Honors Engineering program, a Personal Finance class and an accounting class.

Anyone interested in participating in the EITC program can call Kay Hoch, the Seneca Valley Foundation’s secretary, at 724-452-6040.
