Garry L. 'Lefty' Michel
Garry L. “Lefty” Michel, 70, of Renfrew passed away Sunday at VNA Inpatient Hospice, Butler.
Born Oct. 2, 1943, in Butler, he was a son of the late Jerome and Eleanor Graham Michel.
He was employed by Armco Steel, where he worked in the scheduling department until retiring in October 2002 after 38 years of service.
He was a member of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, Meridian.
He was also a member of the Western Pennsylvania Tractor and Truck Pullers. He volunteered for the Butler Farm Show, doing various activities. He was also a member of Allegheny Ridge Runners Snowmobile Club.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth Ann Leslie Michel, who he married May 6, 1972; his three sons, Chris (Heather) Michel of Renfrew, Jason (Brenda) Michel of Aliquippa, and Timothy (Jennifer) Michel of Grove City; his five grandchildren, Cameron, Megan, Morgan, Nichole and Abriella Michel; his two sisters, Eileen (Paul) Slomer of Renfrew and Sue Geibel of New York; and his numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Michel.

Cunningham St., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, 125 Buttercup Road, Meridian, with the Rev. James Murphy, pastor, officiating.
