GROVE CITY — Two workers were trapped in a ditch this afternoon when the sides collapsed on them.

According to a Mercer County 911 emergency center operator, one of the workers reportedly was buried up to his neck, but dirt was removed to his waist by the time police arrived on the scene about 2 p.m., the operator said.

One of the workers was flown by medical helicopter to a hospital. Information on the other worker was not available.
