Florence 'Flo' Spellman

Florence “Flo” Spellman, 52, of Ellwood City, formerly of Zelienople, passed away suddenly at her home Wednesday.

Born on Oct. 11, 1961, in New Kensington, she was the daughter of the late LeRoy Steele Johnston and Norma Jean Montgomery.

Flo was currently disabled but previously had been employed by Evergreen Nursing Home, the Harmony Short Line, and the Uni-Mart and 7-Eleven stores in Zelienople.

She was a member of the Women of the Moose in Harmony and the Hungarian Club in Zelienople. Flo's favorite pastime was karaoke, and she especially enjoyed listening to country music.

Her memory will be cherished, and she will be missed sadly by her fiance, William Goehring; her three daughters, Cynthia Murray, Heather Grosskopf, and Patricia Spellman and her companion, David Krenn; her two sons, Daniel Perry and Roy Grosskopf; her three brothers, Roger Montgomery, LeRoy Montgomery and his wife, Betty, and Robert Montgomery; her sister, Emilie Montgomery; her brother-in-law, Richard Meckley, and her numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Rebecca Meckley; her brother, David Montgomery, and her longtime companion, Charles Lavera.

Spellman — In accordance with Flo's wishes, there will be no public visitation for Florence “Flo” Spellman, who passed away Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2014.A memorial service is being planned for later.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Boylan Funeral Home, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople.Flo's family suggests that memorial donations be made in her honor to support the ALS Association, 416 Lincoln Ave., Millvale, PA 15209.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with Flo's family at www.boylanfuneralhome.com.
