Boy unhurt as gunshot breaks window
A 6-year-old boy narrowly escaped injury late Sunday night when a shotgun blast shattered a window at his family’s apartment building in the 400 block of West New Castle Street, city police said.
The boy, who authorities did not identify, was sleeping on a love seat just inside the window about 10:30 p.m. when the gunfire hit, spraying him with glass, according to a police report.
Police said wadding from a 12-gauge shotgun shell was found at the scene. Several suspects were interviewed but no one was immediately arrested.
The investigation continues.
