Olive M. Cehelsky

Olive M. Cehelsky, 99, of Butler passed away Tuesday morning at Under Our Wing, Butler.

Born on Sept. 27, 1914, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Lewis Spohn and May Cochran Spohn.

Olive was a homemaker and a member of the St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Butler, the Womens Council of St. Peter and Phase II Seniors group at St. Peter, and was a former president of the St. Peter Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Tanglewood Center, a life member of AARP and had been a former officer and 50-year member of the C.D. of A., Butler Court 443.

Surviving are her son, Ronald J. (Judy) Cehelsky of Butler; her daughter, Lorri (Peter) Shuber of Butler; her seven grandchildren; her 18 great-grandchildren; and her numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Regina Glaser Spohn; her husband, John S. Cehelsky, who she married on Oct. 26, 1935, and who died on Oct. 22, 1983; her daughter, Dolores Dellen; her two brothers; her four sisters; and one great-grandchild.

Cehelsky — The friends of Olive M. Cehelsky, who passed away Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at theGeibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.The Womens Council of St. Peter will meet at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 127 Franklin St., Butler, to recite the rosary.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
