Bernice Rhodes Miller

Bernice Rhodes Miller, 90, formerly of Renfrew, passed away at 3:20 p.m. Monday at Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Cabot.

She was born on Feb. 16, 1924, in Union Township, to the late Robert Leroy Rhodes and Frances Adella Steele Rhodes.

Mrs. Miller was a graduate of Corsica-Union High School, then went on to earn a secretarial degree from DuBois Business College.

She worked as a legal secretary for T. Mellon & Sons' Bank in Pittsburgh, retiring on April 30, 1965.

Mrs. Miller was a member of the Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church, where she was a former member of the Bible study. She enjoyed needlework, reading and watching sports on TV with her late husband.

Mrs. Miller is survived by a number of nieces and nephews, and a number of great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Trent Miller, who passed away on Aug. 8, 2009, and her four brothers, Robert, Dean, Lynn, and Paul Rhodes.

Miller — The friends of Bernice Rhodes Miller, who passed away Monday, Sept. 1, 2014, will be received from 10 a.m. to time of service at 11 a.m. Thursday at theThompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler, with the Rev. Jeffrey Curtis of Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church officiating.
