James S. Norris Jr.

James S. Norris Jr., 67, of Kittanning passed away Aug. 19 as a result of an automobile accident.

He was born on July 8, 1947, in Natrona Heights, the son of the late James S. Norris Sr. and Elizabeth J. Polliard Norris.

Jim spent his younger years in Cabot and became a resident of the Kittanning area when he married his wife, Susan, on April 25, 1992.

For many years, he worked in the maintenance department at Creekside Mushrooms, formerly Moonlight Mushrooms, retiring in 2009.

Jim was an avid hunter and had wonderful memories of time spent at camp in Sigel, many of which included his friend and hunting partner, Dave Fair. He also enjoyed woodworking, and was a member of the NRA and lifetime member of the North American Hunting Club. Despite his many interests, Jim was happiest when with his family, especially his wife, children and grandchildren.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 22 years, Susan E. Norris; his son, William J. Norris and his wife, April, of Sarver; his daughters, Tammi S. Rossi and her husband, Chris, of Butler, and Amy M. Vause and her husband, Shawn, of Kittanning; his grandchildren, Nicholas, Anthony, Christina and Victoria Rossi, and Aubrie and Allison Norris; and his granddog, Doc.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Norris— The family and friends of James S. Norris Jr., who passed away Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Bauer Funeral Home, 515 N. McKean St., Kittanning.Additional visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Gale Winning officiating.
