DAVIS, Okla. — Four members of a Texas college softball team were killed after a tractor-trailer crossed the center median and collided with the team's van Friday night just south of Turner Falls, authorities said.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol Capt. Ronnie Hampton said three young women — all members of the North Central Texas College softball team — died at the scene following the accident that happened on Interstate 35 about 9 p.m. Friday. A fourth woman died at a hospital.
The softball team was returning to North Central Texas College in Gainesville after playing a scrimmage with Southern Nazarene University in Bethany earlier Friday.

If that doesn't work, they'll file a lawsuit.Harding and her family accept the decision by Salt Lake County Attorney Sim Gill and are glad the investigation is complete, their lawyer Paxton Guymon said.“I agree that there was no intent to injure, but the level of recklessness on a number of fronts was so egregious that it was a train wreck waiting to happen,” Guymon said. “Somebody was going to get hurt.”
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — A northern New Mexico sheriff who has fought off accusations of misconduct throughout his career was convicted Friday of abusing a driver during a traffic stop that prosecutors called a fit of road rage.Rio Arriba County Sheriff Thomas Rodella, sitting in the defendant's chair rather than on the side of the law, and his family were visibly upset when jurors convicted him of pulling his gun on a driver and violating the 26-year-old's civil rights. His wife, state Rep. Debbie Rodella, D-Espanola, sobbed after the verdict was read.Rodella, one of the most powerful political figures in the state, now faces up to 17 years in prison.
