Themes of pain, healing and self-discovery are explored in the plot of Slippery Rock University’s presentation of “Scab” at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 3 and 5 to 9 with a 2 p.m. matinee Oct. 5 in the University Union multipurpose room. Regional artists are featured in the 23rd Area Artists Exhibition through Oct. 4 in the Pew Fine Arts Center Gallery. Admission is free and hours are noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays; and 7 to 10 p.m. today through Saturday. The gallery will be open until 5 p.m. Oct. 4 for homecoming.

Westminster’s Jake Erhardt International Film Series resumes at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Sebastian Mueller Theater. Admission is free.
