Mavis L. (White) Bowersox
Mavis L. (White) Bowersox, 72, of Sarver passed away early Saturday at Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia in Cabot surrounded by loved ones.
She was born in Leicestershire, England, on Oct. 24, 1941, to the late Frederick and Catherine Drane White.
She was married to George H. Bowersox from June 20, 1959, until his death Feb. 13, 2001. Mavis attended Cabot United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her three daughters, Catherine “Mandy” Bowersox, Joyce (Patrick) Bolte and Brenda (John) Shaffer, all of Sarver; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Sheila Ryan of Leicester, England; and one brother, Derek White of Malaysia. Also surviving are many generations of nieces and nephews “across the pond.”
She was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers, all from England.
