Richard C. “Richie” Brady Jr., 52, of Butler passed away suddenly Monday while on his annual golf outing in Michigan with his beloved friend, Jay Rickert, and buds.

Born in Butler Dec. 26, 1961, he was the son of the late Richard C. Brady Sr. and Florence (Acquavita) Brady.

Richie was a journeyman machinist employed at Phoenix Glass in Monaca for 17 years.

He served in the U.S. Navy from 1981 to 1986.

He loved golfing, playing softball and umpiring. He was the assistant coach for the Butler High School girls golf team and taught junior golf at The Perfect Swing Golf School. He was an avid Steelers, Pirates and Penguins fan.

He will be sadly missed by his wife of 27 years, Lori Hoffman Brady, and his daughters, Elizabeth A. (Liz) Brady of Zelienople and Abigail E. Brady at home. He is also survived by his sisters, Pamela Hrip of Maryland, Deborah Brady of Butler and Barbara A. (Gregory) Byerly of Butler; his niece, Jennifer Browning; and his two nephews, Joshua Byerly and Brian Byerly; his best friends, Jay Rickert and John Minehart, and his best buddy, his dog, Luke.

Brady — Friends of Richard C. “Richie” Brady Jr., who passed away suddenly Monday, Aug. 11, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 until time of services at 8 p.m. Friday at Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. The Rev. Harry Bielewicz and the Rev.
