Sing Out! Youth Harmony Festival set to return in October
VALENCIA — The second annual Pittsburgh Youth Harmony Festival, open for free to all teens and music educators, will take place Oct. 4 at Glade Run Presbyterian Church, 1091 Pittsburgh Road.
The festival begins with registration at 8 a.m. and ends with a free show for the public at 5 p.m.
This event is free for teens and music educators and includes breakfast, lunch, and a T-shirt for all participants. Last year participants came from as far as Washington, Pa., and Oil City.
Participants will learn about the art of four-part barbershop harmony under the direction of certified, professional clinicians, featuring The Con Men, third place Collegiate International Champions.
The quartet called the Dotted Quarters, made up of students from Seneca Valley High School, will perform at the evening show. The group consists of Lauren Ottaviani, Madison Lopiccolo, Samantha Tedrow and Hayley Hoss.
A separate learning track will be available for educators.
The event is sponsored by the North Hills Harmony Line Chorus, Barbershop Harmony Society; and the Greater Harmony Chorus, Sweet Adelines International.
