Jennings Environmental Education Center, Route 528, Brady Township, will have a program on Sam Mohawk and the Wigton Massacre at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Moraine State Park will host “Tag a Monarch” at 1 p.m. Saturday at the McDanels Launch Area, Pavilion 7, and a kayaking program at 9 a.m. Sept. 23. Call 724-368-3612 to register. Demonstrations of the historic oil well in operation will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the well along Park Road off Route 528.

Cruises aboard Nautical Nature, an enclosed pontoon boat, include a 90-minute narrated tour of Lake Arthur, as sponsored by the Moraine Preservation Fund. Cruises begin at 1 and 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Tickets for adults are $11 online and $12 at the gate, for senior citizens, $9 and $10, and for children, $5 and $6. McConnells Mill State Park, Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County, off Route 422, has the historic gristmill open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through September and then Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in October. A cooking program, “A Taste of History: Dutch Oven Cooking,” will be held from noon to 3:30 p.m. Sunday. “Hemlocks of Hells Hollow” will be held at 1 p.m. Sept. 20. The 22nd annual Heritage Festival is slated for 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 27 and 28.
