Harry H. Stevenson

Harry H. Stevenson, 81, of Butler passed away at 11:23 p.m. on Thursday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

He was born Feb. 3, 1933, in Butler, the son of the late Harry H. Stevenson Sr. and Goldie (Bowser) Stevenson.

Harry was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War from 1952 to 1956. He was a member of the American Legion Post 117, the SOI and the Slovak Club. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had been a tire salesman.

Surviving are his wife, Marie L. (Pett) Stevenson, who he married Dec. 26, 1953; three daughters, Deborah Neupert of Butler, Melanie (Edward) S. Lavery of Philipsburg and Lisa A. (Robert Sr.) Henry of Butler; his son, Harry (Deborah Albright) H. Stevenson III of Butler; four grandsons, Nathan (Doriann) Lavery, Jason (Gretchen) Lavery, Dane (Kelly) Potochny and Beau Henry; four granddaughters, Tabetha Stevenson, Lacie (Bryon) Foster, Anna McCandless and Kelly (Kody) Shearer; 14 great-grandchildren, Carter, Miles, Andrea and Martin Lavery, Lexie, Wyatt and Livie Foster, Hannah, Emma, Lily and Karina Potochny, Blaise Shearer, and Chacie and Ryder McCandless; two brothers, William (Glenda) Stevenson of Nebraska and Richard Stevenson of Butler; and two sisters, Beatrice (Chuck) Burns of Portersville and Lois Calliahan of Butler.

He was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother.

STEVENSON — Friends of Harry H. Stevenson, who died Thursday, July 31, 2014, will be received at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. until the time of the service at 8 p.m.A graveside service will be Tuesday at 10 a.m. with military honors by the American Legion and VFW at Greenlawn Burial Estates.
