Harold L. 'Dutch' Andre
Harold L. “Dutch” Andre, 79, of Butler passed away Tuesday at Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born on Jan. 18, 1935, in Chicora, the son of the late Earl H. and Carrie M. (Lewis) Andre.
Harold had been a teacher in the Armstrong School District. He had been a sales manager at The Appliance Store, Kerr’s and R.W. McDonald’s. Harold had coached East Brady High School football and basketball for 20 years.
He was a member of the North Main Street Church of God. Harold enjoyed fishing, hunting and watching his grandchildren play sports.
Surviving are his wife, Sondra (Hovis) Andre, who he married on June 10, 1955; his two daughters, Amy E. (Harry) Sell of Wexford and Rhonda K. (Robert) Shay of Mechanicsburg, and his grandchildren, Abigail, Nicholas, Matthew, and Jake Sell, Heather Statler, and Kirstie Shay.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his five brothers, Donald, Leroy, Leslie, Cecil, and Gerald, and his two sisters, Virginia Weimer and Shirley Stitt.
Andre — The friends of Harold L. “Dutch” Andre, who passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler.Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the North Main Street Church of God, 1201 N. Main St. Ext., Butler, with the Rev. Gordon Powell and the Pastor Brandon Lenhart officiating.
