Myrtle Mae Custer Riding Potts

Myrtle Mae Custer Riding Potts, 79, of Meridian passed away Tuesday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice, Butler.

Born on June 18, 1935, in Madison, Clarion County, she was the daughter of the late Elrick and Bertha Regis Custer.

Upon its closing, Myrtle retired from Moonlight Mushroom Farms. She then returned to work and retired from Creekside Mushroom Farms. She enjoyed working and all the people she worked with.

Myrtle will be remembered as a hard worker, whether it was at work, at home or while visiting or caring for her grandchildren. She loved going places with her husband, especially to stock car races and casinos.

She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Jerry Leroy Potts, who she married on July 1, 1977; her son, Michael (Christine) Riding of Slippery Rock; her stepdaughter, Jeanne (Rodney) Guy of Prospect; her four grandchildren, Taylor Riding of Slippery Rock and Jocelyn, Cole and Rheannon Guy, all of Prospect; her loving Bichon Frise dog, Hercules; her two sisters-in-law, Idamae Riding of Butler and Shirley Skillman of New Castle; her aunt, Spud Regis of East Butler; and her many cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Jerry Leroy Potts Jr., and her first husband, Donald James “Mickey” Riding.

Potts — There will be no viewing for Myrtle Mae Custer Riding Potts, who passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014, but the family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Friday in the Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main St., Prospect. The Rev. Connie Dunn will officiate.
