To those who never knew you

The world may seem the same;

But to us who loved and lost you

Life’s but a bitter name.

For empty days and dragging hours

Endured with aching heart,

Until the trumpet blows,

And we meet nevermore to part.

Do not ask if I miss him

There is such a vacant place,

Often I think I hear his footsteps

And see his smiling face.

Days of sadness still comes over me,

Tears of silence often flow,

Memory keeps him near to me,

Though he left one year ago.
