Catherine Luchkiw Bifareti

Catherine Luchkiw Bifareti, 98, of Clifton, Va., loving wife and mother and friend to many, passed away peacefully on May 8 after a long and good life.

She was born in Butler to Basil and Helen Luchkiw, and devoted her life to her husband, family and friends, living in various places in Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia.

She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Lawrence and Barbara Bifareti, Donald and Sharon Bifareti, and Catherine and John Borklund; her nine grandchildren; and her nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Luchkiw of Butler, and her numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Bifareti; her sons, John Jr. and Ronald Bifareti; her two sisters; and eight brothers.

Bifareti— The family of Catherine Luchkiw Bifareti, who passed away Thursday, May 8, 2014, will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at theEverly Funeral Home, Fairfax, Va.A funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Saint Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church, Clifton, Va., with interment to follow at the Arlington National Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, some may wish to make a donation to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Catherine's name.
