Pamela S. Smith

Pamela S. Smith

Pamela S. Smith, 54, passed away Tuesday at the Hillman Cancer Center, UPMC Shadyside.

From her birth in Butler on Aug. 22, 1959, to her death, she nourished people around her with love and faith. She was raised in Prospect until the 7th grade when the family of seven children moved to Renfrew.

After graduating from high school, she married her high school sweetheart, Daniel Smith, and became the most loving and caring wife and mother. Pam and Dan married on Oct. 27, 1979, in Butler.

Pam and Dan became born-again followers of the Lord Jesus Christ in 1978 and developed a heart for the ministry. Pressing On Ministries is a Christ centered outreach committed to the Glory of God that Pam and Dan have been involved with for 10 years.

Left to honor Pam and remember her love and faith are her loving husband, Daniel Smith; her two children, Ashley Nicol and Daniel P. Smith; her three grandchildren, Brooke Nicol, Olivia Smith and Brady Nicol; her father, Eugene Cousins; and her six brothers and sisters.

Pam was preceded in death by her mother, Ida Cousins.

Pam will be remembered as a bright, shining light in the various communities and churches she served. She hosted Bible studies for the women inmates at the Butler County Prison since April. We just thank the Lord for using her to touch so many lives for Christ. Her favorite Bible verse was Romans 8:28. She exalted the sovereignty of her God and her favorite phrase “God is good all the time, all the time God is good.” For all her brothers and sisters in Christ, it's not goodbye, only see you later.

One of her favorite Bible teachers was John MacArthur at GTY.org. While at the hospital, she told everyone she knew where she was going. Her desire was to get well and be here to see her grandbabies grow, but if not, she would be in glory land. Her prayers were for her lost loved ones' salvation so they would be in heaven with her. Luke 19:10.

Smith — Funeral services for Pamela S. Smith, who passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014, will be at 6 p.m. Monday at the Christ Bible Church, 2721 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township, with the Pastor Jimmy Caraway officiating. The Smith family would like to extend our gratitude to all the family and friends who have prayed for and supported her and Dan through her illness.
