Former guard convicted of lying to marshal

PITTSBURGH — A former Pennsylvania prison guard has been found guilty of lying to U.S. marshals about his brother’s whereabouts.

Federal jurors in Pittsburgh convicted 43-year-old Ralph Currington on Wednesday of three counts of making false statements to law enforcement.

Authorities were looking for Currington’s brother on a heroin trafficking charge. Currington allegedly told marshals he hadn’t seen his brother since 2012.

But prosecutors say his brother had stayed with him within two weeks.
