Marilyn (Joan) Nicodemus

Marilyn (Joan) Nicodemus, 80, of Portersville passed away Monday at Major's Personal Care Home in New Castle.

She was born Aug. 21, 1933, in Sheakleyville and was the daughter of Claude Leech McCright and Evelyn Hoobler McCright.

An avid animal lover, she also enjoyed ceramics and other crafts and loved going to craft shows.

Survivors include her two brothers, Larry McCright and his wife, Janet, of Hermitage, and Paul McCright and his wife, Helen, of Greenville; her sister, Mrs. Janice Hobbs and her husband, Dick, of Cortland, Ohio; and her three sisters-in-law, Carolyn McCright of Greenville, Loretta Nicodemus of Portersville, and Dorothy McCormick of New Castle.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Nicodemus, who she married July 4, 1953, and who died Feb. 3, 2008, and by her brother, Stanley McCright.

Nicodemus— Visitation for Marilyn (Joan) Nicodemus, who passed away Monday, June 16, 2014, will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Jay Bryan Funeral Home, 443 Main St., Prospect.Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday from the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Frye of Portersville Christian and Missionary Alliance Church officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn Burial Estates and Mausoleums in Butler.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Butler County Humane Society, 1015 Evans City Road, Renfrew, PA 16053.
