Richard 'Dick' H. Powell

Richard Powell

Richard “Dick” H. Powell, 80, of Butler, went to be with the Lord Sunday at his home.

He was born Feb. 7, 1934, in Greensburg, the son of the late Harold and Florence (Bowser) Powell.

Dick was a retired electrician of I.B.E.W. Local 5 and had just received his 60-year pin.

He enjoyed bowling, playing pool and camping with his family and friends at Moraine Camplands, where he had a camp for 40 years.

Dick was a member of the Moose in Butler where he competed in pool tournaments. He had attended Cornerstone Baptist Church.

Surviving are his daughter, Tammy S. (Powell) Moore; his four sons, Richard H. (Regina) Powell Jr., Donald E. (Sharon) Powell, Rex G. (Laurie) Powell and Douglas Powell, all of Butler; his 10 grandchildren, Shannon, Richard III, Sean, Joshua, Christa, Brittany, Dewayne, Michel, Brandon and Daryn; his 11 great-grandchildren; his great-great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Deloris M. (Sanderson) Powell, who passed away June 19, 2003, and his two sisters.

Powell — The friends of Richard “Dick” H. Powell, who passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014, will be received at Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.Services will be at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Thursday.
