Michael Scott Coyle

Mike Coyle

Michael Scott Coyle, 50, of Chicora passed away at home Sunday surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born on April 5, 1964, in Butler, the son of James S. “Cocky” and Nancy (Weiland) Coyle Jr.

Mike graduated from Butler High School in 1982 and joined the Air Force, where he was a sergeant. He then worked as a steamfitter for local 449 for more than 25 years, spending most of those years with Renick Brothers.

He belonged to the Rattigan Sportsman Club, where he was a founding father, the Happy Hunters Sportsman's Club, Chicora Moose Post 962, Chicora VFW Post 7876 and the Chicora Softball League. Mike enjoyed the outdoors and also worked as a fishing guide in Alaska. He loved to go on hunting trips with family and friends and was always the luckiest of them all.

Mike's true love is his wife, Chrissy, with whom he shared many wonderful memories and special times with their families — especially with all of their nieces and nephews. They did not have any children, but Mike loved each niece and nephew as they were his own. He would look forward to each hunting season when all of the kids would come to his garage to shoot deer and have fun.

Mike liked a good joke, would bet on anything, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends playing for the County Line Pool and Horseshoe leagues. Mike will be best remembered for being a laid-back, fun-loving man, who lived life to the fullest and cared deeply about many people.

Mike will be deeply missed by his wife, Christine “Chrissy” D'Andrea, who he married on Oct. 10, 2005; his parents, Cocky and Nancy Coyle of Fenelton; his mother-in-law, Chris Gehm of Chicora; his brothers, James S. Coyle III and his wife, Cathie, of Chicora, Raymond H. Coyle and his wife, Heidi, of Fairview and Robert E. Coyle and his wife, Denise, of Fenelton; his sisters, Susan L. Tidwell and her husband, Rick, of Cottonwood, Idaho, and Jenifer Venendaal and her husband, Brad, of Homer, Alaska; and his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, whom he adored.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Stewart and Clara (Zimmel) Coyle, and his maternal grandparents, Harold and Ethel (Graham-Weiland) Dreda.
