ZELIENOPLE — The 51st annual Horse Trading Days festival opens today through Saturday.

The event includes live music, entertainment and food.

The parade will take place at 7 p.m. Friday on Main Street and a fireworks display will start at 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

A scholarship benefit performance that was to be held tonight has been canceled.The readers' theater show of one-act plays written by Butler native Don Orwald was to be at the Succop Theater at Butler County Community College.

BUTLER TWP — “A Midsummer Night's Dream,” one of William Shakespeare's most beloved comedies, is Hobnob Theatre's Shakespeare in the Park summer production this year.The play, directed by Phil Ball, will run at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 1, 2, 3, 8, 9 and 10 at Preston Park.Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children and are available at www.hobnobtheatre.com or at the show.An interactive map on the website explains the promenade style of this production, outlining the different locations in the park where it will take place.Audience members are encouraged to take folding chairs and wear comfortable shoes.

Up on the Roof, Butler Downtown's summer fundraising party, will be held from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday on the top level of the Tier Parking Garage.The evening will feature food by Bill Atkinson, owner of The Chop Shop, beverages, music and raffles.Entertainment will include the reunion of the popular Butler band Freedom Child, DJ Trixter, and Zambelli fireworks presented by the Butler BlueSox and Butler County Ford.Tickets are $50 in advance or $55 at the door. BUTLER TWP — Sing Hosanna! will present its comedy dinner theater “A Crazy Christmas Comedy and Culinary Comforts,” featuring a meal and “Santa Claustrophobia” Aug. 9 at the South Butler Fire Hall, 98 Old Plank Road.Two seatings are planned, one at noon and one at 5 p.m.The cast includes Dale Riemer, Matt Nocera, Trish Canedy, Ruth Nellis, Maxwell McAuley, Nikki Ambrose, Abigail McAuley and Genevieve Archer.Cost is $20 for adults and $7 for children age 10 and younger. FOXBURG — Three concerts by Western Pennsylvania jazz artists will take place July 26 and 27 as Allegheny RiverStone Center for the Arts hosts JazzFest.The Eric Krouse Trio will play from 2 to 5 p.m. July 26 at the Foxburg Wine Cellars. Admission is free to this concert.The Tania Grubbs Quartet will perform at 7 p.m. July 26 in Lincoln Hall, 42 S.
