Thomas Davidson
Thomas M. Davidson, 91, of Mars passed away Thursday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.
Born June 8, 1923, in Mars, he was the son of the late John and Rilda (Huffman) Davidson.
For 64 years, Tom was a faithful member at the Old Union Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder, deacon and sang in the choir for 60 years.
He proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army's 204th Division that successfully shot down the last enemy plane in the war.
Tom was a charter member of the Mars VFW, a member of the Mars American Legion, and the Evans City Senior Center. Above all, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.
Tom leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 64 years, Myra Davidson of Mars, who he married on Sept. 3, 1949; his son, David L. (Karen) Davidson of Mars; his brother, Wayne (Kay) Davidson of Mars; two sisters, Mary Lou Michel of Pittsburgh and Jeanne (Mick) Pappas of Mars; and two granddaughters, Darcee (Nathan) Lyons and Brooke Davidson.
In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by three brothers.
DAVIDSON — The family of Thomas M. Davidson, who died Thursday, June 12, 2014, will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Boylan Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 116 E. Main St., Evans City.A funeral ceremony will be in Tom's honor at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Rosalyn Kummer officiating.
