Power Conversion Technologies Inc. in June moved from a shop in Jackson Township to a larger facility in the Schreiber Industrial Park in Zelienople.

PCTI, established in 1991, designs and manufactures power supplies, inverters, battery chargers, frequency converters and other electrical components for industrial and military applications.

The 2014 Western District Golf Classic held June 11 at Hartmann's Deep Valley Resort in Jackson Township netted about $5,000 that will be split between the Zelienople-Harmony Chamber of Commerce and Junior Achievement of Seneca Valley.Neal Jackson of WesBanco in Zelienople, the golf outing committee chairman, said more than 60 golfers played in the annual event.The winning team, and repeat champion, was comprised of a foursome representing both Maddalon Jewelers and the Murray Agency.

The Butler chapter of Twilight Wish recently partnered with Speedy Furniture to make a wish come true for Evans City resident Patty Gustonvic.Twilight Wish, a national nonprofit, grants wishes to seniors age 68 and older who are in need.Gustonvic, 70, contacted the Butler chapter to see if it could help her buy new living room furniture since she is retired and will soon move to a retirement community.Jean Bowen, who works for the Center for Community Resources in Butler and volunteers with the Butler chapter, said the group contacted a number of furniture stores. Greg and Cheryl Bures, owners of the Speedy Furniture store in Moraine Pointe Plaza in Butler Township, decided to donate a love seat.“I felt like queen for a day,” Gustonvic said about the donation. “I feel lucky they picked me.”Gustonvic’s wish was the second granted by the Butler chapter, which formed last year.
