Dale Allen Patton, 48, of New Sewickley Township, passed away Tuesday at Good Samaritan Hospice in Wexford.

Born Jan. 21, 1966, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of Robert Patton of Lyndora and the late Diane R. Grossman.

Dale was a selfless man who put his family and friends first throughout his life, even while battling his illness.

He enjoyed his job as a truck driver and was known for his unwavering work ethic. Dale was a handyman and enjoyed fixing things around the house and for his friends and relatives. An outdoorsman at heart, Dale loved boating and camping in his free time.

Above all, he was a loving father, brother, grandfather and great friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing and loving him.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his children, Zachary Patton of New Sewickley Township, Melinda Patton of New Sewickley Township, and Amanda (Terry) Scobie of New Brighton; his brother, David (Maureen) Patton of New Brighton; his stepbrother, Scott Grossman of New Sewickley Township; his two sisters, Barbara Vinroe of Butler and Robin Detling of California; his four grandchildren, Austin and Mckenna Rausch and Layne and Kori Scobie; and his countless friends.

Dale was preceded in death by his mother, Diane R. Grossman, who passed away May 9, 2014.
