A Clay Township man will serve up to four years in prison for owning and distributing child pornography on the Internet.

According to court records, 26-year-old Shane Hinchberger had at least five images depicting children engaged in sexual activity.

The files were discovered by agents from the Attorney General’s Child Predator Section conducting an online investigation.

After getting a search warrant, agents seized electronic devices from Hinchberger’s home at 184 McGregor Road to be analyzed by the attorney general’s Computer Forensics Unit.

Hinchberger pleaded guilt to multiple felony counts of possessing and distributing pornography and one count of criminal use of a communication facility.

He was sentenced Thursday by Butler County Judge Timothy McCune.

Court records say Hinchberger’s criminal record includes convictions for theft and burglary.
