Dorothy M. Covert Lawler, 81, of Evans City passed away Sunday morning in St. John Specialty Care Center, Mars.

Born on June 16, 1932, in Chicora, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Emma O. Hutchens Covert.

Dorothy was a Presbyterian.

She retired from Lutheran Youth and Family Services, Zelienople, in 1996 as the dietary manager. After retirement, she worked as a greeter for Walmart in Butler until 2007.

Dorothy enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and playing Bingo.

She was preceded in death by her three sisters; two brothers; and her former husband, Richard L. Lawler, on June 6, 2011.

She is survived by her son, Michael L. Lawler of Evans City; her brother, Thomas A. (Helen) Covert of Chicora; her nieces and nephews; and her cat, Chester.

Lawler — The friends of Dorothy M. Covert Lawler, who passed away Sunday, June 8, 2014, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the A. Carl Kinsey-Ronald N. Volz Funeral Home, 328 W. Main St., Evans City.Services will follow at 8:30 p.m. with the Rev. John Hoogerbrugge, chaplain at St John Specialty Care Center, officiating.
