Butler County man pleads guilty to child porn charges
PITTSBURGH — A Butler County man pleaded guilty in federal court Tuesday to charges of receipt and possession of child pornography.
Mark Beres, 54, formerly of Slippery Rock, pleaded guilty to two counts before Chief U.S. District Judge Joy Flowers Conti, according to a news release from the U.S. attorney’s office.
Beres knowingly received pictures of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct via computer and the U.S. Postal Service.
The indictment charges that he possessed those videos and images in computer files on April 23, 2013.
His sentencing is Oct. 31. He faces up to 30 years in prison, a fine of $500,000, or both.
