Leo A. Smith

Leo A. Smith, 85, of Butler passed away Friday at Butler Memorial Hospital in Butler.

Born Nov. 21, 1928 in Canal Fulton, Ohio, he was the son of the late Arthur L. and Genevieve Angert Smith.

He had worked construction in the Butler area as a residential building contractor. Following his contracting business, he went to work for Montgomery Ward as a sales representative. He also worked as a sales representative for his brother-in-law selling religious merchandise through out various regions of the central and eastern United States.

He was a member of St. Peter Roman Catholic Church in Butler.

Surviving are his children, Linda (Jeffrey) Mamula of Clinton, Ohio, Bradley (Kathleen) Smith of Butler, Craig (Penny) Smith of Grand Prairie, Texas, and Ron Rock of Pittsburgh; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Donna (Donald) Mentzer of Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Brown Smith, who passed away July 11, 2011; two sons, Daniel J. and Scott E. Smith; one brother; and two sisters.

SMITH — Friends of Leo A. Smith, who died Friday, June 6, 2014, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 127 Franklin St., Butler.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15205.
