Philip Carl Christofano
Philip Carl Christofano, 53, of Butler passed away Tuesday at his home.
He was the son of Sandra Anderson Christofano and the late Carl Christofano. He was born on Feb. 7, 1961, in Butler.
He was a 1979 graduate of Butler High School.
Phil was a loyal and dependable employee for the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board for more than 20 years, having worked in Wine and Spirits stores all over the Butler region.
Philip was an avid fan of all sports, especially hockey and the Pittsburgh Penguins. Phil was a dedicated lover of music, and he enjoyed attending concerts and following local bands. He also took much pleasure in playing his many guitars. He was also an accomplished chess player.
He was a member of the VFW and a lifelong member of the St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Butler.
Philip is survived by his mother; his sister, Terri Christofano of Dallas, Texas; his two brothers, Michael Christofano and John Christofano, both of Butler; his three nieces, Alexandra Jochmann of Texas, and Nicole Christofano and Devan Christofano, both of Butler; his nephew, Michael Christofano of Butler; his two grandnieces, Marlee West and Myanna West, both of Butler; his sister-in-law, Maria Christofano; and his very special cousin and friend, Janice Christofano.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents.
Christofano— The friends of Philip Carl Christofano, who passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2014, will be received at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. Alden Towberman, his pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at Butler County Memorial Park.
