Duane E. Kuhns

Duane E. Kuhns, 80, of Harrison City passed away Sunday in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg.

He was born on Sept. 29, 1933, in Larimer, a son of the late Edward D. and Caroline L. (Woleslagle) Kuhns.

Before his retirement, Duane was owner and operator of Professional Lawn Grooming in Florida.

He was a veteran of the Navy and the Coast Guard.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Terri Kuhns; a son, Edward Kuhns; a sister, Lois McClure; a brother, Clyde Kuhns, and a stepson, David P. Shaw.

Surviving are his wife, Mildred Louise (Mayers) Shaw Kuhns; two daughters, Nancy Boyle and Jacqueline Posey, both of Florida; a sister, Carol (James) Barkley of Evans City; his stepchildren, William A. Shaw of Ohio, Michael E. (Mary Ann) Shaw of North Huntingdon, and Joseph P. (Dana) Shaw of Hampton Bays, N.Y.; several grandchildren and step-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.

Kuhns — The friends of Duane E. Kuhns, who passed away Sunday, May 25, 2014, will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Joseph F. Ott Funeral Home, 504 Oak St., Irwin.A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. John Barkley, pastor of the Hillcrest Baptist Church, officiating.
