Monday is the last day for residents of the Butler School District to pay their taxes at face value.

The city treasurer's office said residents may pay their taxes in person at the treasurer's office in the City Building, 140 W. North St.

Residents also may mail their payments to the treasurer's office, but the envelope must be post marked no later than Monday.

Taxes paid after Monday will be at the penalty amount.

The Lick Hill and Penn Township volunteer fire companies are conducting their respective annual fund drives for 2014.Letters were mailed to all residents, businesses and property owners in the departments' service areas.People who did not get a donation request in the mail and want to donate can mail donations.For Lick Hill, mail to the Lick Hill Volunteer Fire Company, 122 McClellan Drive, Butler, PA 16001.For Penn Township, mail to the Penn Township Volunteer Fire Company, 311 Airport Road, Butler, PA 16002.
