Butler to enjoy 2 fireworks nights

Residents of the city will have back-to-back fireworks nights to celebrate Independence Day weekend.

The city will present a fireworks show on the Fourth of July.

The fireworks will be set off from Kelly Automotive Park following a Butler BlueSox game against Danville. The start time of that game has not been announced.

City council in May signed an $11,000 deal with Zambelli Fireworks to present the show.

The BlueSox will host a fireworks night of their own the following night after another game against Danville.

The game on July 5 will begin at 7:05 p.m. It is also Texas Roadhouse player autograph night.

Tickets for both games begin at $6.50 and can be purchased online or at the Kelly Automotive Park box office.

The Butler Area Street Machine Association also will host its Celebration of Freedom Car and Motorcycle Show on July 4 at Memorial Park.

The show typically draws a couple hundred classic cars and will last from noon to 4 p.m. Participants will vote for award winners.
