Rotary golf outing returns
CRANBERRY TWP — The Cranberry Township Noon Rotary Club will hold its annual golf outing Aug. 25 at the Olde Stonewall Golf Club in Ellwood City.
Participants also will get the chance to listen to University of Pittsburgh men’s basketball coach Jamie Dixon speak at a dinner after the golf outing.
The outing is the rotary club’s major fundraiser and will allow the club to fund several projects throughout the year.
The day will begin with registration at 10:30 a.m. followed by a buffet lunch at 11 a.m. Golf will start at 12:30 p.m. with dinner starting at 5 p.m.
There will be other attractions including raffles, prizes, putting contests and skill prizes.
Rotary member Jerome Savoroski, who has spent the last six months organizing the golf outing, said said the money will go to the Cranberry Township library, hosting the Cranberry Township senior luncheon, highway cleanups of Route 19, the Salvation Army and the Seneca Valley Foundation, among others.
In addition, the money will be used to donate gift cards to economically disadvantaged people in the area during the holidays.
“The Cranberry Rotary has been helping our community since 1971,” Savoroski said. “Fundraising efforts like ours have helped us to build the Cranberry Rotary Park amphitheater and the Cranberry dog park, just to name a few.”
Savoroski said any person or company wishing to volunteer at the event, or anyone wishing to register for the golf outing, can do so by e-mailing him at jeromes@sailmc.com.
“It should be a great day of fellowship,” he said.
