Evelyn Jean Jordon, 91, of Beaver Falls died Thursday at Beaver Valley Nursing and Rehabilitation with her family by her side.

She was born March 27, 1923, in Bruin. She was the daughter of the late Clarence and Jessie Kelly Pennington.

Evelyn was a clerk at the Maranatha Christian Book Store.

She was one of the founding members of Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Chippewa, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school and participated in many of the women's groups. Evelyn was a devout Christian who touched the hearts of everyone she met.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Andy Jordon; one daughter, Nancy Jordon; four brothers, Frederick, Basile, Harry and Lawrence Pennington; and one son-in-law, Douglas Dragoo.

She is survived by four children, Bruce (Karen) Jordon of South Beaver Township, Linda Dragoo of Bridgeville, Barbara (Richard) Garbutt of Bethel Park and Thomas Jordon of Chippewa Township; one grandson, Travis and Stacy Jordon of McDonald; two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Addison Jordon; and several nieces and nephews.

JORDON — Friends of Evelyn Jean Jordon, who died Thursday, May 15, 2014, will be received Sunday from 1 to 7 p.m. at the Gabauer-Lutton Funeral Home Chippewa, 117 Blackhawk Road, Beaver Falls.Evelyn will lie in state on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. in Mt. Olive Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2679 Darlington Road, Beaver Falls. The Rev. Eric Ash will officiate. Private interment will follow at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.Family requests that contributions be made to the Mt.
