Police say gunfire in a pair of Pittsburgh neighborhoods sent five people to hospitals.

Authorities said a SWAT team was dispatched to a home in the Homewood section of the city after two men were shot at about 2 a.m. Sunday.

Both were taken to UPMC, and a 41-year-old man was listed in serious condition. Two men were arrested and five juveniles released to their guardians.

Police also said gunfire in the Fineview neighborhood shortly before 1:30 a.m. Monday wounded three people, one critically.

Pittsburgh public safety spokeswoman Sonya Toler said a woman was shot in the back and two men each shot in the leg shortly. Police said two people believed to have been the shooters fled in a car.

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh is closing a second K-8 school in as many weeks due to declining enrollment.The diocese says St. John the Baptist Parish in Monaca, Beaver County, has asked permission to close its school because it had only 97 students enrolled in grades K-8. Last week the diocese announced it was closing Holy Child School in Bridgeville, which had only 82 pupils this year, and only 53 enrolled for the fall.The closings will leave it with 60 elementary schools, down from 85 three years ago when the diocese began urging a grassroots reorganization of its elementary schools which have been steadily losing enrollment.
