Mary Jane 'Skeets' Brandon

Mary Jane “Skeets” Brandon of Slippery Rock passed away Wednesday at Autumn Grove in Harrisville following an extended illness.

She was born on Aug. 21, 1936, in West Monterrey, to Albert “Hap” Hulihan Sr. and Pauline Beal Hulihan.

She married Robert “Bob” Brandon, who preceded her in death. She was earlier married to Paul Krauchuk Sr., who also preceded her in death.

She retired from managing Cooper Street Apartments in Slippery Rock, and she worked as a caterer at Slippery Rock University. Her career included working at the underground mines and at Montgomery Ward as a home interior decorator, going to clients homes. She also made the garments for the Madrigal performances at Slippery Rock University and made wedding garments for local ladies.

She was active, working with local Girl Scouts, etc.

She was well-known for giving her motherly advice to all. She raised her family at the Slippery Rock United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her two sons, Robert L. Brandon of Arizona, and Paul Krauchuk of Slippery Rock; her two daughters, Wanda J. Brandon and Tina DeMarco, both of Slippery Rock; her three grandchildren, Isabelle DeMarco, Amanda Brandon and Amy Repsher; her great-grandchild, Lilly E. Repsher; and her brother, David L. Hulihan of Espyville.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Patty Hulihan and Sara “Sal” Hulihan, and her brother, Albert “Tuck” Hulihan.

Brandon— The family of Mary Jane “Skeets” Brandon, who passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014, will receive friends at the Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock, from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday.A funeral service will be at the Slippery Rock United Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Keith McIlwain, pastor of the church, presiding. They will welcome guests following the service for refreshments in the social hall of the church.Interment will be in Slippery Rock Cemetery.
