Esther Kriess

Esther Mae Kriess of Butler passed away at 6:25 a.m. Wednesday at Concordia Care in Cabot.

She was born in Butler, the daughter of the late George Kriess and Florence (Phillips) Kriess.

Esther was a member of the St. John’s Reformed Church where she was a member of the Women of Faith Guild. She volunteered for Connoquenessing Meals on Wheels and was a member of the Meridian Area Retiree Club.

Esther retired as a bookkeeper from Butler Eagle Printing and also worked at the Point Drug Store.

Surviving are her sister, Donna Hobaugh of Butler, and her brother, Kenneth Kriess of Kennerdell.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Fred Kriess, and her three sisters, Mary Going, Grace Gould and Betty Simons.

Kriess — The friends of Esther Mae Kriess, who passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2014, will be received at the Young Funeral Home, 127 W. Jefferson St., Butler, from 2 until the time of the service at 4 p.m. Sunday with Dr. Curt McDaniel officiating.
