Bruce S. Nelson, 86, of Evans City passed away peacefully Thursday morning in UPMC Passavant, McCandless Township.

Born on Oct. 7, 1927, in Evans City, he was the son of the late John and Charlotte Stratton Nelson.

Bruce was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, Evans City.

He was a district sales manager for Northwest Airlines, retiring with more than 30 years of service.

Bruce was a 50-year member of the Harmony Lodge 429 F&AM.

Bruce loved his family, enjoyed going to the casino, traveling and gardening.

He was preceded in death by his daughter and his two brothers.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Helen P. Pryor Nelson, who he married on May 9, 1952; his two sons, David B. (Dr. Bonnie Gong) Nelson of Bellevue, Wash., and Robert (Lonnie) Nelson of Charlotte, N.C.; his seven grandchildren; and his great-grandson.

Main St., Evans City.
