Judith M. Sagone

Judith M. Sagone, 74, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away Sunday.

Judith was born June 23, 1939, in Butler, to the late John and Kathryn (Ellison) Gerstner.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Dr. Arthur L. Sagone Jr.; her children, Katherine (Jose Montenegro) Sagone, John (Laura Zajkowski) Sagone, Arthur Sagone and Matthew (Shelva) Sagone; her grandchildren, Jessica (Chad) Roberts-Hughes, Michael Roberts, Luke Sagone, Alexandra Sagone, and Zachary Sagone; her sister, Katherine (David) Craig; her brother, John (Linda) Gerstner, and her nephew, Jason Craig.

She was preceded in death by her nephew, Eric Gerstner.

Judith was a registered nurse for most of her career.

She enjoyed flower arranging, volunteering at St. Andrew's Parish library and vacationing at the Outer Banks. Judy was an avid Buckeye basketball fan and also enjoyed watching “Jeopardy.”

She received the prestigious Mary Shoemaker Volunteer of the Year Award from The Ohio State University despite battling multiple sclerosis for most of her life.

Sagone, who passed away Sunday, May 11, 2014, may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, Ohio.A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1899 McCoy Road, Columbus, Ohio.
