Betty Lou Hill, 79, of Valencia, passed away Sunday afternoon at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Born in Valencia on June 19, 1934, she was the daughter of the late George and Mabel Boice Govan.

A homemaker, Betty was a member of Mars Alliance Church.

Surviving are two sons, Paul A. and Stephen J. Hill, both of Valencia; daughter Melanie Simmerman and her husband, Otto J., of Marshallville, Ohio; granddaughter, Rachel Simmerman; and brother, Frank Govan and his wife, Jan, of Valencia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Arthur “Art” Hill, who died on Feb. 23, 2004, and by brothers, James, Richard and John Govan.

Hill — The friends of Betty Lou Hill, who passed away Sunday, May 11, 2014, will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Mars Alliance Church, 997 Route 228, Mars, with the Rev.
