A free Outdoor Discovery series, hosted by the Butler County Parks and Recreation Department, will feature a program on the history of Alameda Park — Butler's Disneyland at 6:30 p.m. today at the park's Carousel Shelter, 184 Alameda Park Road. The third annual Garden Tour of the Butler County Symphony will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. This self-guided tour will show off six of the county's gardens and serves as a fundraiser for the symphony. A free reception will be held on the day of the Garden Tour at the Meridian Gift Shop, 298 Meridian Road. Light refreshments of cookies and cold drinks will be available. Lunch items will be for sale. Garden tour tickets are $15. Call 724-283-1402.

Moraine State Park has free National Get Outdoors Day activities from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Lakeview Beach, North Shore. Call 724-368-3612.

Cruises aboard Nautical Nature, a 37-passenger enclosed pontoon boat, include a 90 minute narrated tour of Lake Arthur, as sponsored by the Moraine Preservation Fund. Cruises take place through Nov. 2. Weekend cruises take place at 1 and 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Tickets for adults are $11 online and $12 at the gate; for senior citizens, $9 and $10; and for children, $5 and $6. Jennings Environmental Education Center, Route 528, Brady Township, will Celebrate the Bloom!, a full day of free activities from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. July 19. Activities will include prairie tours and other nature explorations, demonstrations, food, artisans and musical guests. New to this year's festival is a program featuring live reptiles and amphibians of the prairie with naturalist April Claus. Call 724-794-6011.

McConnells Mill State Park in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County, will host “A Taste of History: Dutch Oven Cooking Demonstrations” from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday and July 13, Aug. 10 and Sept. 14.
