INVASION READY TO ROLL INTO TOWN

Jeeps of all kinds will fill downtown Friday evening.

More than 1,000 will be here for the Jeep Invasion which is part of the 4th annual Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival.

This event will close Main Street late Friday afternoon as Jeeps start parking at 5 p.m. The Jeep Invasion will run from 6 to 10 p.m. when the public can look at the vehicles and talk with their owners.

The festival, which honors the creation in 1940 in Butler of the military reconnaissance vehicle that became the Jeep, will run Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Cooper’s Lake Campground.

Also, the festival is a wedding destination of sorts.

A Wisconsin couple got married in Butler on Wednesday to start their visit to the festival.
