Light rail commuter trains have resumed running into downtown Pittsburgh after a barge possibly hit a railroad bridge, which had to be inspected before the trains could resume using it.

The bridge crosses the Monongahela River into downtown from the city's South Hills suburbs which are served by the Port Authority of Allegheny County trains.

Inspectors determined the bridge could reopen about 6:30 a.m. today.

BRIDGEVILLE — The Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh is closing a K-8 school due to low enrollment, and three churches that haven't been used for worship since 2011.Holy Child School in Bridgeville, which had only 82 pupils this year and only 53 enrolled for the fall, will close Friday.The diocese is also closing St. Ignatius church and the former Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Barnabas churches. They will close June 30.
