Comtra Theatre will host auditions for “Shrek the Musical” from 2:30 to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the theater, 20540 Route 19, Cranberry Township.

Those auditioning should take a prepared modern Broadway song to sing. There will be cold readings from the script and a movement audition.

The show is scheduled to run Aug. 22 to Sept. 6.

Also conducting auditions will be Freeport Theatre Festival, which takes place at the Steele Farm, 2498 White Cloud Farm, two miles southeast of Freeport off Route 356 in Allegheny Township, Westmoreland County.

Auditions for the 25th FTF summer season will be from noon to 3 p.m. Friday and 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday.

Auditions are open for actors, musicians, tech crew, and students in search of summer service hours.
