Developer's plan adds another hotel

Supervisors hear revisions

CRANBERRY TWP — The Village of Cranberry Woods development is getting another hotel in a revised plan revealed at a supervisors meeting Thursday night.

Ron Henshaw, the township’s director of community development, said at a board meeting the project’s developer has requested several changes to the plan.

The development, located on the south side of Route 228 near the township’s border with Seven Fields, is a massive project and is currently split up in five phases.

The alterations brought before the board of supervisors only dealt with the first phase of the project, which was scheduled to include a hotel, three restaurants and one retail space.

Those plans have been revised but still include the 135-room Hilton Garden Inn, which is already in place at the site.

However, the developer has decided to scrap the plans for the three restaurants and retail space and instead is asking permission to build another 116-room hotel along with a restaurant.

Preliminary plans call for the hotel to be more than 93,000 square feet and the restaurant to be around 7,000 square feet.

The supervisors are expected to further discuss the development at a meeting on June 24.
