Esther M. Thompson
Esther M. Thompson, 89, of Butler passed away at 5:04 p.m. Thursday at the Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia.
She was born on May 1, 1924, in Meridian to the late Victor A. Fry and Della (Lechner) Fry.
Mrs. Thompson was a member of the St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church. She retired from the Butler School District where she worked in food service.
Mrs. Thompson is survived by her son, Larry J. Thompson and his wife, Debra, of Butler; her daughter, Diana L. Haugh and her husband, John W., of Grove City; her six grandchildren; her great-grandchild; her three sisters, Victoria Dunbar of Warren, Ruth Lewis of Texas, and Jean Buchanan of Colorado; her three brothers, Kenneth V. Fry and his wife, Janice, of Butler, Robert D. Fry and his wife, Betty, of Florida, and Raymond E. Fry and his wife, Noreen, of Wexford, and her numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James M. Thompson Jr., who she married on Feb. 19, 1943, and who passed away on July 11, 2006.
Thompson— Friends of Esther M. Thompson, who died Thursday, April 24, 2014, will be received Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Alden Towberman of the St. Mark's Evangelical Church officiating.
